Week 9, All of Black Sad - 5pt

 

Blacksad is a phenomenal read. I discovered the comic in my local library 5 years ago, and read all of them. The story is set in the late 1950s in the United States and uses a film noir style. The characters are anthropomorphic and stereortypes are used. For example, the white furred characters act as white supremacists, mirroring the ku klux klan. The female characters are more human looking than the male characters. During more dramatic scenes, the characters have dramatic facial expressions. The comics, take a dark cinematic style, as Black Sad, the main protagonists and detective solves cases, and fights against evil characters. The series feels very realistic to the real world, despite the anthropomorphic characters.
